Problem-posing allows both the student and teacher to learn equally. According to Freire, the "teacher cannot think for her students, nor can she impose her thoughts on them" (Freire 220). This shows how both the teacher and student can now communicate and learn from each other by allowing students to think on their own creating authentic thinking. Authentic thinking allows both individuals to express their opinions. It creates a balance in their relationship by providing both sides the ability to teach and learn. Freire expands on this by saying that problem-posing is the best way to achieve liberation. Freire believes "liberation is a praxis: the action and reflection of men and women upon their world in order to transform it" ( Freire 221).
