Problems Facing Human service

Abstract

Poverty is due to low income, lack of education and lack of sufficient employment. It is a very complicated issue and can be explained by individual circumstances and characteristics of poor people. Poverty causes education in poor community to be something that many people lack. The poverty and lack of education leads to high crime, low income, lack of healthcare and low income housing. Poor people should be properly educated in the advantages of population control, the circulation and budgeting of finances and the options available to become self-sufficient. The issue that many clients are having is something that should be addressed by providing specific programs that are carefully monitored and evaluated for the people. The poverty and lack of income and education is something that didn’t happen overnight and will require long term efforts for improvement.

Problems facing Human Service

There are a range of problems that human services clients face. Many of the problems are linked to one another. Poverty, lack of education, lack of employment, lack of medications being taken and the lack of doctor’s visits are all problems that are being faced. Right now in the city where I live, poverty is one of the most common problems. Poverty is due to low income, lack of education and lack of sufficient employment. Poverty is a very complicated issue and can be explained by individual circumstances and characteristics of poor people. Education in poor communities is inadequate for individual to be competitive in today’s job market. This leads to high crime, low income, and lack of healthcare and substandard housing. Louisiana’s poor should be properly educated in the advantages of population control, the circulation and budgeting of finances and the options available to become self-sufficient. These issues should be addressed by developing specific programs that are carefully monitored and evaluated by the state. The poverty that exists didn’t happen overnight and will require long term efforts for improvement.
Poverty rate remains the same after 20 years which is above the national average. People living in poverty normally rely on public assistance. Poverty includes people from every age group and race (Health Reform and State Legislative Initiatives, 2014). Since it attacks people of every age, race, and sex, it should be everyone’s concern. Addressing the consequences of poverty through education, correctional programs, and public health programs, this can change things (www.lpb.org).
Education is a very important. It is one of the ways that can be used to help clients come out of poverty. If the council member and state representatives would investments more money and time in education and the push for early childhood education programs, it can help reduce poverty in the long term. Without this happen, the future will be so different from the one that society hopes to create. In the new century, graduating from high school college-ready and obtaining a postsecondary degree or credential can mean the difference between a lifetime of poverty and a secure economic future (www.ajarg.com). Leaders for education, have to find strategies to reduce the high school dropout rate and prepare students for college (www.spotlightonpoverty.org). Education can help improve the quality of workers, but in no way can it improve the quantity of available jobs. Adding more jobs which require the least training to a poor economy is not a help to lessen poverty. If they would just create jobs for people who only have a high-school diploma or even some college courses, this could help to boost the economy. It’s hard for many people to get jobs because some are dropping at young ages. Jobs should maybe still allow people to work while working on a GED or high school diploma.
In several of the places where the poverty rate is high, there seems to be a growing rate in crime. It has been told that people having a hard time securing adequate employment are more likely to be involved with criminal activity. This is because they have no jobs or training so they turn to the next best thing in their eyesight. People living in poverty are victims of crime because of the community that they reside in. Many believe that crime follows poverty and these conditions often produce criminal economies such as drug markets. The challenge is for the criminal justice and social service systems to figure out a way to provide communities the tools that they need to maintain a reasonable standard of living and reduce the enticement to participate in illegal activity. Establishing sustainable employment and economic well-being are important factors for successful reintegration from prison to the community (http://forumshoumatoday.com).
Many times people that do not have health insurance are people who live in poverty without jobs and or education. There are more than 9 million children who are uninsured in the United States (www.ncsl.org). These children that are not insured live in families with household incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. Many are also eligible for insurance the government they live in but are still not enrolled (www.ncsl.org). Research shows that early intervention and knowledge makes a measurable improvement in the future health of the poor. A lot will change for families not that the new insurance laws are to be enforced.
A focus must be on creating a community that is informed and engaged. In emphasizing the role of individuals, the role of the government cannot be overlooked. Overcoming poverty will not happen without essential change in government. When communities are allowed to fully express their views, feel that they are sincerely being heard, and are actively involved in the solution, government has an important lead to begin the development of necessary policies to address the situation.
In order to get a grip on poverty, people have to feel a strong need of responsibility to persist. If they invest care in these communities, it will strengthen the people together. There also is an increased personal and community expectation. In order to solve the problem of poverty, there has to be programs that will address immediate needs of families, education, and employment as well as job training. In order for this problem to be fixed all over the world, the citizens and the government has to take a stand and work to be self sufficient.
They have to get more jobs available and more people to work. (www.louisianaprogress.org). Government officials and organizations has to work together to ensure the people things will get better. Policies have to be put in place that will promote education, health, self-sufficiency, and economic growth (www.louisianaprogress.org). This will allow for a community where citizens can become self sufficient and live in normal communities with their children and families.
