Homework has caused students to become unhealthy as they spent most of their leisure time hard at work in a chair at their desk when they could be outside enjoying nature.…
One of the many pressures a college student faces is the amount of homework we endure. At Southern Nazarene University, we have different classes each day. Having a different class every day comes with a lot of homework. Homework is the cause of decreasing grades. In college you are overwhelmed with homework. There are two different types of opinions when it comes to the term “homework.” One of these opinions is that too much homework causes students to disengage. Others, however, claim that homework is necessary and helpful. As a result of all this homework, college students are forced to stay up late hours, which leads me to my next point of maintaining sleep.…
First and foremost, as the class of COLL100 has already studied and performed time over time the environment in which we study. Let’s start out with this sentence here “In the modern world, children are attached to iPods, smart phones, text messages, Facebook, and instant message.” (Markman A. (2012)) In this day in age few people can go without the modern technology that we have access to. Most of the time these luxuries will wind up distraction students from their goals. When studying, place the cell phone across the room or in another room. Do not click the new tab button to bring up Facebook or another communication site. Try to stay distraction free and habit free. As humans it’s become a habit to play on the cell phone, check Facebook all the time, or even texting five people at once.…
Some people say that homework is helpful for subject enhancement in students, however others may say homework is not very helpful and instead is a stressor for students. As a result, there is much debate on the topic of homework. Here at Culver City Middle School, there isn’t a homework policy, which leads to either too little homework or too much homework. This is a real problem since students are trying to advance and understand subjects. A new policy, should be created where there is need for meaningful homework as it will benefit many students in several ways.…
Finally, homework is very demanding on kids. “In most U.S schools, homework has become more demanding and time-consuming (scope magazine, pages 20-21, lines 33-35). Studies have shown that most kids feel very stressed about schoolwork and homework. There is a lot of pressure to do well in school. Some kids feel like “if they don’t get help from their parents, they will be at a competitive disadvantage with classmates who do.” (scope magazine, pages 20-21, lines 69-72).…
Teens carried their phones at all times and social media was directly correlated with popularity. Because of this, my peers and I were constantly glued to our phones. The epidemic of phone and social media addiction makes it difficult for teens to leave their phones alone for more than a couple minutes. Throughout high school I struggled to listen in class and focus for seven hours a day. Homework was even worse.…
Almost every student has homework every night. Homework can last up to one to three hours a day and it can make a student slack off. Brains work 6 hours a day with classwork, tests, etc. Brains need a break before they have to their homework. Homework is just another thing to think about when the bell rings to go home. It is definitely what no one wants to do right when they…
Today’s generation is growing up in a world full of amazing new technology and a place where information is only a keyboard click away. Technology is everywhere now, which is an extremely easy distractor from the important things in life that should take precedent over surfing the web or updating a Facebook status. As amazing and helpful as technology is, it hinders children’s focus, provides too much instant gratification and is a huge distraction.…
Social Media has had a negative effect on adolescents educational output by consuming time that should be spent on homework assignments thus inhibiting poor time management skills. Parent and teachers alike have been astounded by the excessive use of social media among adolescents during the past decade. Today’s social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram provide a myriad of distractions at the fingertips of adolescents. Parents allow far too much freedom for adolescents online today, and the content on many of the social media platforms is deplorable at best. In the end parents need to exert more control over their children’s web activity for their child’s academic achievement and well…

First, doing your homework in bed is good because you can kick back and you sometimes get cramps. You could lay down and rest while doing homework. To me this is a great idea. probablynot to other people.…
Denying the fact that teenagers spend too much time on their mobile phones and computers will be an injustice. It will be like lying to ourselves. Being a teenager myself, I willingly admit to the fact that we do spend too much time on our technologies. We cannot help it; with time, incredible inventions have mastered to better our lives and being born in the new generation, the youth have quickly adapted to the changes, particularly the teenagers. While others think this habit is full of catches, it has got its perks as well.…
We all remember when we were little fighting with our parents or hiding from mom, just to escape from doing homework. Lately we can see incredible amounts of articles and books against homework. Even in some families, homework is seen as an intrusion of personal and family time. Homework opponents often say that homework does not promote good study habits and we can also find cases where homework creates family tension, when parents find themselves arguing with their children into completing their homework. For some, the word ‘homework’ is associated with the idea that such work is a necessary evil of attending school. For the others, homework is a precious opportunity to boost learning. Homework has the potential to help us do well in school if the assignments are meaningful, have a purpose and come with clear instructions.…
The basic objectives of assigning homework to students are the same as schooling in general: To increase the knowledge and improve the abilities and skills of the students. However, opponents of homework cite homework as rote, or grind work, designed to take up children's time, without offering tangible benefit. Homework may be designed to reinforce what students have already learned, prepare them for upcoming (or complex or difficult) lessons, extend what they know by having them apply it to new situations, or to integrate their abilities by applying many different skills to a single task. Homework also provides an opportunity for parents to participate in their children's education.…
