Executive Summary
In this assignment I will discuss the production management of Duran Dogan Packaging and I will describe which problems occurred in the company that are related to its production management in particular and which strategies they are applying to describe and solve these problems. I have worked in this company as a quality assurance specialist from October 2011 to September 2012. I based my assignment on my previous observations and an interview with my old colleague by e-mail who worked in the company as a production engineer. In conclusion, I will discuss whether I agree with these strategies and I will give recommendation to the company for alternative or complimentary solutions.

Introduction
Duran Offset and Dogan Packaging, as one of the most experienced and well-recognized companies in packaging industry in Turkey, established Duran Dogan Packaging by a merger in 2005. Their know-how and sector experience were combined to be a leading packaging converter in the industry. 60% of their sales were export sales to U.K., Ireland, Belgium, France, U.S.A and Russia.
Duran Dogan Packaging manufactures printed folding cartons, micro flute and premium packaging mainly for chocolate confectionery, food, personal care, dental care, spirits, pharmaceuticals and household products.

    This company is implemented in the paper packaging industry that was featured by the quickly growth between 1980´s and early 1990´s. Due to organizations that chase the desire to make a greater impact with their promotional materials or moved their promotional budget from print media and broadcast forms to the package itself at the moment of purchase. From the combination of this growth and Bayonne´s aspiration to improve, the company is divided in six major stages: Composition, Sheeting, Printing, Die-Cut, Fold&Glue, Finishing and Shipping dock. In the first one, the goal is to develop the printing and the package design, printing plates are made and die-cutting dies are ordered. Then in the Sheet Department, the paper is sheeted from the roll stock and stacked on skids to be printed. After that, the Fold&Glue department consists in turning the die-cut blanks into the finished product.
