My career goal is to have the ability to encourage, motivate, inspire, and stamp the lives of young teenagers. I chose to go into the career cluster of Education and Training. My career goal is to be a High School teacher and an Athletic Coach. I want to be considered one of the “cool teachers” that all the students go to with the school gossip and personal problems, but at the same time I want to be a teacher/coach that takes things seriously. I believe I would be successful pursuing teaching and coaching due to the fact they both share my interest of working with kids and being in charge. I also tend to believe with my grandmother and my mother also being teachers, it influenced my decision because…

For my senior project I choose to learn the ropes of being a professional DJ, under the watch of my mentor Tim Ball. The reason I choose this as my senior project is because I have a lot of interest in music and want to use this opportunity to try to help myself to being more comfortable being in front of people. Before starting this project I knew very little about what it takes to be a professional DJ, so while I work on this project I will be learning new skills and how to manage a DJ business. My mentor is known to the DJ community as DJ Outlaw; he has been a DJ for the last twenty years and has done over 3,000 gigs. He also has a valid Federal Communication of Commerce license (FCC License). He owns his own DJ business…
The three-career Assessment taken last week was an eye opener for me. This is because it makes me understand some new thing about myself. Let me start by analyzing the Triatify Assessment, this assessment gives me a better understand of the kind of person I am or let me say, who am going to become. One thing that surprised me after taking the assessment is that, it said that “I’m a kind of person who is comfortable being the center of attention. My friends admire this about me because I’m not only the life of a party but I have a big heart helping people”. I know this about myself because this is not the first-time people will say something like this to me. I’m a kind of person who loves to go out of my comfort to satisfy people around me,…
Becoming an occupational therapist has been an aspiration of mine since my father’s stroke 9 years ago. Ever since, I have completed relevant courses and gained experience in a multitude of settings to prepare myself for the occupational therapy program of TWU. I have been blessed to work with recent alumni of the TWU MOT program as an acute therapy technician at UT Southwestern. Each hour of the day, I assist a different therapist allowing me to compare the knowledge and expertise of TWU therapists with that of other graduate programs. Through my experience, I can attest that TWU graduates hold true to the school’s mission of providing innovative and proficient facilitation of occupational therapy.…
