Professional Dress Paper

There are many different types of business dress. For example, it would be appropriate for someone who works at Spencer's to wear dark t-shirts and baggy pants. Although a lawyer should wear a suit and tie, dress pants and the whole deal. Someone who works at McDonalds though has to wear certain clothes for work.
I think that people dress a certain way according to their job. Like I previously stated, it all depends on what your employer wants you to wear. If you don't wear what you are expected to wear then you could be fired from your job. Also if you don't wear what is expected then you will most likely will not be taken seriously at you job if you still have it. I know that if I went to a lawyer

As previously stated I understand that there are dress codes that should be in place. If it was up to me to change the dress code I would take the wearing of undershirts and sock color out of the dress code. On certain days different materials can make the skin feel irritated. While working in a fast food restaurant the fewer irritants the better. The dress codes issues that I feel should be focused on is make up, hair, shaving and how you wear your uniform I.E how tight or loosely your uniform should be worn. Those are issues that the management staff should focus on.…

As far as dress code goes, employees who work in the model home dress in business casual, never in jeans. I have never been to the corporate office but when my sales manager goes every week he dresses in business casual as well. Aside from dress code, there are people in the workplace where you can behavior only formally with or informally with. There are co-workers who we only discuss business matters with and others we can go out to lunch with and speak on personal matters. Like most businesses there is politics. Some co-workers are rumored to be friends with the higher ups and we feel like we cannot talk to them how we talk to some other employees. For those employees we talk strictly…

I do believe that the way you dress should play a role in the job you are given or not given because if you feel the need to wear revealing clothing in a professional work environment then you shouldn’t be in that type of work, and if you choose to dress professional and classy then yes, that is the right type of job for you. The way you dress at work says a lot about how you are as a person, and your clothing should show that you are mature, and responsible, you should not be showing a lot of skin…

I really do hate the feeling of wearing clothes I would be so uncomfortable in and it makes working a lot harder. Society, including me, all wants to be comfortable in work places, but wearing what is considered comfortable is “wrong.” Findings from Muzader Sherif explained that social norms develop because “ we have a strong desire to be “correct” – to behave in an appropriate manner – and behaving consistently with social norms help us attain that goal” (266). That was one foundation to it and another “is the desire to be accepted by others and liked by them” (266). They are both very true and the second one really relates to my norm violation. Even though I was comfortable and having fun in my clothes, my boss and parents of the students would not like it. They would feel like it is a work and school environment, but I was dressed like I was not respecting that environment. So to them, they would find it very hard to accept me as a tutor for the job and for the students because I did not look professional. I was able to learn from the different perspectives from this experience, but I would not dress improperly to work…

Appearance is very important. Your clothes should be suitable for the situation. For example, if you wear casual clothes in a meeting with your partners, they will think that you are not serious about working with them, or you don’t respect them. Besides, clothes can demonstrate your characteristic. People often like the one with neat clothes than a sloven one.…
