Nurse’s Professional Identity
Professional identity has become more relevant in the twenty first century. In the light of the professional identity as a nurse - it is a widely known figure of care and compassion. The self-realization of being a nurse to provide selfless service and care makes a person effective as a nurse. In practitioners, graduate programs and doctor of nursing (DNP) where the scope is expanded. But the nurse practitioners are allowed to do only certain prescriptions and request blood tests. The Institute Of Medicine (IOM) has suggested the congress and state legislature law that nurse practitioners should be allowed to do more junior doctors job legally (study.com, 2010). Each nurse is responsible for improving their own knowledge and skills.
On the other hand, Drummond and Standish (2007), argues that the nurses are in danger because of technicians and health care assistants.
