As Murphy (1998) rightly points out, CEO compensation has become one of the most debated issues in the recent past. A lot of research in this field has been conducted to determine the relationship between CEO pay levels with the corporate performance, firm size, board vigilance, CEO’s human capital, tenure & age. But the results of these researches are not very hopeful and have yielded conflicting results. This review aims at understanding these relationships and also tries to provide an ethical perspective on CEO compensation.…

The EZLN is a movement that began in an effort to protect the rights of the indigenous people of Chiapas. This grew into a fight against globalization. The EZLN could not have stated it better, they are fighting for “a world in which many worlds fit”. The EZLN are fighting for the forgotten, the underrepresented and exploited. They do not limit their struggle to the indigenous people of Chiapas. They are not blinded to the struggles that people from other states and places are facing. The EZLN does not claim to have an answer. They are willing to acknowledge that nothing is certain. The only thing that is certain is that the current government is not serving the needs of the people. The EZLN is not individualistic. They fight against exploitation on every level and on behalf of everyone. The Fire and the Word by Gloria Munoz Ramirez retells the EZLN struggle from the day the first founders retreated into the jungle to twenty years after.…

A major theme in my life is improvement. I challenge myself to take risks and set high expectations for myself. For instance, I strive to run faster and for longer distances every couple of times I approach the treadmill belt. I am obstinate about my minimum distance, 2.2 miles, and my minimum speed, 6.8. A major component of improving myself is learning. Every new word is a miniscule enhancement of my massive English vocabulary pool, but it is still a step in the right direction. I enjoy becoming more knowledgeable in both domestic and international affairs. I wish I could have more time to pour into reading current event and health articles. I am particularly attached to drumming the latest scientific discovery or innovate biotechnology product…

He begun the debate on assisted suicide should be legal or should be illegal. Kevorkian believed in the right to die, “The voluntary self-elimination of individual and mortally diseased or crippled lives taken collectively can only enhance the preservation of public health and welfare” (Kevorkian). He created his own machine that would be used to give the patient a mixture of pain killers and poisons to end a patient’s life. Kevorkian was charged with first degree murder for the death of one of his patients he had helped end their life. Kevorkian tried to get a ballot…
