In the second part I will do marketing mix for Yahoo!’s display ad service, try to identify organizational culture of the company and describe importance of motivation in Yahoo!’s context.

I produce this report as assignment for FC088 (Introduction to Business) module at Liverpool International College. Tutor of my assignment is John Burns.

Jerry Yang,
Photo from Forbes.com First of all we need to know that most entrepreneurs are innovative and creative people, who are ready to take risk to make their new idea and business successful.

Jerry Yang was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1968. His father died when he was just two years old and later when he was 10, his mother moved to USA with her 2 sons. No one imagined that 10 years old boy who knew only one English word ‘shoe’, would become billionaire after 20 years. As listed in “The Word’s Billionaire” list of Forbes, his fortune is $1.2 billion as of September 2012 (Forbes, Jerry Yang Profile, 2012).

He completed his BS and MS study in electrical engineering at Stanford University just in 4 years. In February 1994, while continuing his study for PhD at Stanford University he started a hobby project with

    Bill Gates Is a Hero

To become one of the most influential people in the world, Gates had to have the work ethic and determination to get there. With great work ethic he started, as a child, with debugging computers for local people in his town (“Gates, William Henry, III” 1). This also started his love for computers, and as he researched and started figuring computers out he became more skillful with them. After he started debugging computers, he began to dabble in writing software programs, his first program that he and his friends made was a computerized payroll system for his high school (“Gates, Bill” 1). He and his friends then proceeded to make more complicated programs, such as Traf-O-Data, which was a traffic counting program that Gates and his partner Paul Allen sold to the city they lived in for $20,000 when they were just fifteen years old (“William H. Gates” 1).…

Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington October 28, 1955. His mother was a schoolteacher, and his father was a Lawyer. Gates had two sisters, and was spoiled as a child in a wealthy household. He was sent to a school by the name of Lakeside, here is where he began to show his interest in computer technology. At the age of thirteen, Gates violated school rules by creating his first software, a tic-tac-toe game, during “computer time” in class. In his attendance at lakeside, he built up a bad reputation by disregarding the rules and although he was socially awkward, and extremely opinionated, he managed to find a friend who shared the same interests in computer technology, Paul Allen. Allen became great friends with Gates, and in 1971 he even co-created their first company called TRAF-O-DATA. Their Company “specialized in monitoring and analyzing traffic statistics in cities and countries”(Berbagi). Their company did well and made $20,00 the first year, but then quickly fell due to customers discovering his age of 17. Gates soon graduated from Lakeside in 1973, with a surplus of knowledge. It is rumored that he scored a 1590 out of 1600 points on his SAT (Leaders of the information age). In later months, Bill Gates attended Harvard University with Allen, and began a programming language called BASIC. However, this…

After I watched the speech which was gave by Bill Gates in June 08, 2007 on the Harvard commencement, I felt more interesting in Bill Gates. According to the information offered by woopidoo.com, we can find the Biography of Bill Gates, which said, “Bill Gates is one of the most influential people in the world. He is cofounder of one of the most recognized brands in the computer industry with nearly every desk top computer using at least one software program from Microsoft. Bill Gates is the richest man in the world and has held the number one position for many years. Gates was born and grew up in Seattle, Washington USA. His father, William H. Gates II was a Seattle attorney and his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates was a school teacher and chairperson of the United Way charity. Gates and his two sisters had a comfortable upbringing, with Gates being able to attend the exclusive secondary "Lakeside School". Bill Gates started studying at Harvard University in 1973 where he spent time with Paul Allen. Gates and Allen worked on a version of the programming language BASIC, which was the basis for the MITS Altair (the first microcomputer available). He did not go on to graduate from Harvard University as he left in his junior year to start what was to become the largest computer software company in the world; Microsoft Corporation.”…

Bill Gates grew up in a well-educated environment with his dad as a lawyer and mother as a school teacher. He first took an interest in computer science in middle school at a private school in Seattle, Washington. This interest later grew when he met his friend, and future business colleague, Paul Allen.
