The report provided below consists of analyzing the four management functions of management within the renovation project at Pravda vodka lounge. The renovation project was originally scheduled to be completed in three months but exceeded that time frame extending the project to be finished in one year. The work was done by various contractors each with a specific role in the undertaking. This provided ability to choose from a wide variety of designs and styles of products as the budget allowed for this. While this was a positive effect of utilizing assorted companies, the adverse effect was the hardship in maintaining consistent communication, organization, and efficiency. Contractors worked at their stations, focusing solely on their task, disregarding any other aspect of the project. Timeliness was not a priority to the contractors as there was a lack of consideration for the daily goals as long as their portion was complete. The delays in shipping of materials made things even harder to co-ordinate. The manager of the project went beyond doing her due diligence and strived with passion to create a flow and balance of the workers, but this came with a great deal of stress initially. She provided the employees with the tools and atmosphere needed to carry out their job. The manager was constantly available on and off work hours to aid in any way needed. The project never went according to schedule as delays in shipments of materials along with poor comprehension skills of the workers made this impossible, but the deduction that alternative managerial strategies were needed to promote efficiency of the employees was realized before it was too late and the project was therefore a success.…

Young Goodman Brown: This story was confusing at first, but after the second read through I found the story of Goodman Brown to be a great revelation that people aren’t always who they seem to be. When Goodman Brown meets up with the older man, he is essentially meeting up with the devil. The devil then weaves Goodman Brown into what is described as a dream, although to me as well as Goodman Brown, it is possible that it was not a dream. In Goodman Brown’s “dream”, Goodman Brown is lead to a sort of “evil ceremony” where he discovers many surprising people attending such as the minister of the church, Deacon Gookin, and his own wife, Faith. Seeing these people who Goodman Brown thought to be pious, Goodman Brown awakens from his “dream” with a new vision of the world. After the devil’s “dream” Goodman Brown is convinced that everyone is evil and loses his trust in the people of Salem. It was when Faith, Goodman Brown’s wife, was revealed to be attending the ceremony did Goodman Brown really start to lose his trust. When Goodman Brown saw his wife, as well as the ribbons falling from her cap, Goodman Brown lost this idea of female purity. Again, at first the story of Goodman Brown was a little confusing, but the second time around the story represented the great illusion that all people are pure due to moral choice and the illusion of female purity.…

I believe I am a strong leader not only due to my 8th-grade status but also for the following reasons. To begin, from my first year of eligibility up until my last, I was a member of the Girl Guides of Canada. As a group, we participated in service projects that changed communities for the better. I also take pride in having been the troupe leader for 2 years consecutively. Secondly, I strive to be dependable when teachers or other students require me to donate my time and resources. By doing so, I desire to show others that I am a trustworthy student who is devoted to going the extra mile in order to help others. Lastly, I have been awarded many nicknames by my friends. However, the name I take pride in is the "mom friend". I take pride in…

I am sitting at the back corner of the library, looking out the window. The trees outside are brown. Most of the leaves have already fallen. Birds on the branches are easy to observe. Some of them are flying in ranks in the sky. Sunshine passes through the glass and warms my face. The sunshine is soft and it makes me feel warm all over. When I am concentrating on the view outside, a short white boy in oversized red shirt and black cap hums as he paces towards me. He sits next to me, opens his book and reads out the words. I decide to leave that sunny corner and walk towards the study desks.…

On September 16, 2011 the Chief Justice of Kenya Hon. Charles Mutunga was overwhelmed by the number of cases that were piling at the Milimani Law Courts, located in Nairobi for the past one year and the number of judges available to deal with the cases filed in the division. It came to his notice that every month cases that were determined and dismissed were few owing to the limited number of judges to decide the cases and therefore they continued to pile at an increasing alarm. He therefore summoned the judges assigned at the law courts to find the best solution to reduce the backlog of cases at the law courts. In solidarity, the judges agreed to meet and discuss the best strategy to reduce the backlog of cases and afterwards provide the chief justice with the feedback in 100 days concerning their progress. The judges agreed to use the rapid results initiative through commercial and admiralty division to reduce the backlog from 7500 to 3500 cases in 100 days.…
