1 Introduction
1.1 Purpose of the Project Plan
The aim of our proposal is to design a cheaper and more accessible water purification method in Sandikhola, Nepal, which will provide an overview of our design. This will embody the various factors in which must be taken into consideration when adapting the design of water purification method in the hill top communities.
1.2 Project Justification
Water quality is one of the big issues within the communities in Sandikhola, Nepal. Natural spring is the main water sources for the hill top communities, which caused the limitation for accessing safe water for household consumption.
This project plan will implement the water purification method as an alternative way to get safe water for daily households’ consumption. It is useful for hill top communities during dry season when water is not available in the village. During this period community will alternately consume water from rainwater tank due to the fact that the water often contains low levels of microbial contamination and further contamination can be added if the water containers are not cleaned properly or if water sits for long periods of time.
1.3 Project Scope
This project will focus on the water purification method as a reason to provide potable water for drinking and cooking on communities’ daily consumption. Through the variety of low cost materials and simple design we aim to keep our project accessible to all houses in rural hilltop villages. We will assess the feasibility of the design and review past examples of its successful implementation in other communities around
