Proper care of wound care in the backcountry when found in dangerous or compromised situations is very vital to understand and appropriately manage. According the evidence found in the article the goals of the management are as follows; proper hemorrhage control, minimize any type of risk of infections, give optimal healing process to occur, reduce any pain or discomfort when managing injury, decrease loss of function of area injured, cosmetic outcome to be increased and optimal outcome, and provide certain care for certain situations. There are different types of wound types associated by the different types of exposures; clean which can occur from a blade cut and has low bacterial risk, dirty has high bacterial risk either in axilla or groin areas and can increase the risk of infection because of improper cleaning techniques done to decrease the risk. The last is contaminated when other types of materials have entered the skin; fecal material or other blood, can cause others to be contaminated. …show more content…
