Proposal 2: Case Study
♣ . Proposal two consists of a happy hour/mixer for nontraditional students. This idea came from both Alex and I. Alex had mentioned how nice that would have been when she first stated at Towson. After further discussion about the idea and further research showing that Towson does not offer many events for students to get to know one another, we figured this could be a great idea. We also talked about how the students could be a plus 1, especially if it is a spouse. We have talked multiple times in the group about how this can be a big event for a married couple, parent or family in general. The plus 1 idea could show the nontraditional students plus 1 their campus, plans at school and all Towson can offer them.

Sexual activity among inmates is a complex phenomenon that occurs along a continuum, from the entirely consensual to the violently coerced. The New York Times detailed a gang-run system of sexual slavery in a Texas prison, where at least 1 gay inmate claimed he was bought and sold numerous times and “forced into oral sex and anal sex on a daily basis.”9 Recent federal legislation called for research into the prevalence and patterns of rape and other sexual victimization within correctional facilities to inform policy changes aimed at controlling these abuses.9 A Human Rights Watch report presented accounts of sexual slavery from inmates in Texas, Illinois, Michigan, California, and Arkansas and asserted that sexual victimization threatens inmates’ essential human rights.10…

The first steps taken after reviewing a Request for Proposal involves determining the status of the opportunity. (Johnson-Sheehan, 2008). In short one must determine if an opportunity or problem exists. The Request for Proposal under review indicates that Government officials are soliciting a vocational initiative that will be funded to train a service oriented work force. The service jobs suggested include “medical services (home health and nurses aides, medical and dental assistants), positions in hotels (maids, housekeepers), security services, telecommunication equipment operators, technicians, repairers, bookkeepers, janitors, food service workers, bus drivers, computer technicians, business services (office skills, cashier, sales), child care, sales, and environmental technicians” (RFP, 2008, para. 2).…

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2015), Obesity in school-age children has increased over the past thirty years to the amount of doubling in some and even quadrupling in others. CDC statistics showed in 2012, at least one-third of the school children were large or obese. Childhood obesity continues to be a growing problem in the United States. School lunches play a significant role in the obesity issues facing children today. The school menus of today contain too many calories from simple carbohydrates and fat. Starchy vegetables instead of green leafy vegetables are served along with food containing sodium levels higher than needed for one’s daily intake. Childhood obesity can lead to health issues if action is not taken rapidly. This paper will provide a brief summary of the issues of childhood obesity and focus on the role the school lunch meals play on this growing crisis.…
