When forming teams in a professional work environment it is important to understand the personalities of your teammates to determine strengths and weaknesses. When a leader is able to define the strengths and weaknesses of the team members it is easier to delegate tasks, encourage brain storming sessions and be successful as a team. Team C is composed of five members all with great leadership skills and a desire to learn and complete excellent work together. The first week of class we completed a DISC assessment that identified our individual personality traits. According to "Disc Profile" (n.d.), "The initial DISC model comes from Dr. William Marston, a professor at Columbia University in the 1920s, who was curious about the behavior of normal people. He did not create an instrument from his theory, but others did” (Disc Overview). As a potential leader of this team, I was able to examine my own leadership styles and apply that to our assignment which is to create a professional development plan to identify the characteristics of the members to lead them to success.…

2. Reflect on what we learned about the humanistic movement in psychology. How was it different from other psychological theories that came before it? What were its main goals? How did many aspects of the “human potential movement” fail to adhere to the goals that were set forth by the founders of humanistic psychology?…
Being able to accomplish a task with a team can be both rewarding and challenging. Learning how to effectively work with a group of people from diverse backgrounds can ultimately be draining. First and foremost there has to be an understanding that everyone is not the same, personalities are different, attitudes are different, work habits are not the same, and definitely learning styles are different. Becoming more sensitive with other team members actions or behaviors is a must. This will help to guide the team as a whole in developing different work strategies to reach the success of the team.…

Cherry (2010), “Erik Erickson’s theory of Psychosocial Development is one of the best-known theories of personality in psychology (Psychosocial Development in Infancy and Early Childhood, para 2). Farzaneh (2008), “Erickson’s Psychosocial Theory focuses on how society shapes and influences a person’s growing sense of ego and the quest for identity. Society is seen as a positive force that fosters the growth and development of the self. Each stage pointed out by Erickson represents a crisis in form of gradually increasing conflicts (The Different Conflicts and Stages of Life, para 8). Each stage represent a time where problems have to be resolved so one may continue to mature. If the crisis’s are dealt with in a satisfactory way their ego can move on to the next stage with competence and self-confidence. If the ego doesn’t develop in a healthy way it can lead to mental illnesses and maladjustments. Psychosocial theory focuses on human development through one’s lifespan from birth to death. This paper will explain how the Psychosocial Development Theory influences my understanding of the personalities and behaviors of people in society and the workplace, as well as, how it influences my role in society and workplace along with my interactions with others.…
The behavioral substyles of the four team members in Project Team A are: Pioneer (Dc), Adventurer (Di), and two Impressers (Ic). There is an even split between the Dominance and Interactive style. This blend of contrasting behavioral styles results in a collaboration of strengths or a source of conflict. To understand this blending, we look at the definitions of each style according to the DISC Platinum Rule Assessment (Blanchard, 2004):…
Dr. Sherwin MGMT/521 Analysis of Team Charter First I would like to define the word team. Team in the Webster’s dictionary is described as a group of people linked in a common purpose. Teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks. After reading my Teams Bio’s over I realized that we are very different individuals. Considering how different my teammates and I are we all bring unique qualities to the team. After completing the Team Charter, we learned each other’s strengths and weaknesses. My teammates and I had to complete a Personality Assessment, which revealed to us what type of personality we have. The Personality Assessment revealed my personality as ENFP which means I am people oriented, creative, and highly optimistic. Beverly’s results revealed that she is reserved, creative and highly idealistic. Last but not least Beth’s results revealed that she has extroverted intuition with introverted thinking. Finally we took the “Do I Trust Others” Assessment, which revealed how we trusted others. My score was low indicating that I am not that trusting. Beth and Beverly’s results were similar revealing that they both are trusting. All of the Assessments we have completed were really a strategies given to us, to help us work better as a group. It also helped me to understand the things that would hinder us from succeeding, as well as the things that we as a Team can help each other accomplish. As a Team I believe that the Learning Team Charter will help us improve our collaborative skills and for me my listening skills. Chartering is described in the Learning Team Handbook as the procedure by which a team meets at the beginning of its process, to describe its mission or task, sets goals, and secure commitment by members to the achievement of goals, make its plans and allocate its resources. By…
