In addition, there is a possible risk involved by having elderly subjects aged 65 and above who are at risk of developing post-operative complications such as urinary retention related to their age or pre-existing conditions that will require them to prolong using the IUC. The risk may interfere with accuracy of the expected outcomes of the study. Lastly, the gathered data provided by the unit to the researcher may be biased since the researchers did not directly monitor the subjects and the nurses’ practices.
