Curse or blessing?
Today humans use selective breeding to make our daily life easier. We use it in food products, we use it in humans which is also known as eugenics but we do it especially in animals. Charles Darwin also known as the father of evolution used selective breeding to help gather proof for his schedueled system for how evolution works by experimenting with animals such as birds. This topic has gotten alot of contreversy as it is considered as unethical action done by us humans.
Selective breeding is a form of selection in which humans activily choose which traits that should be passed onto an offspring. Selective breeding can cause that the animal who are being bred may lose some of genes from the gene pool altogether which you cannot be changed. It is considered highly expensive, it can create new mutations, and it can cause harm to animals who are being bred such as a shorter life span.
Sometimes selective can end up so wrong that it can cause danger to the population. A good example for that would be the africanized honey bees. They were bred by scientist so they would increase their honey production. However something went horrible wrong and ended up being dangerous to humans because they are now killing people.
There are also some positive facts with selective breeding. According to healthreserchdunding.org selective helps us get the offspring we want, it can produce more crops and it is considered as a safe process.
In my opinion we should continue selective breeding because it has helped our daily life easier. However I think we need to show more
