Before 1776 America was not a free country. The British government had controlled America. But on July 4th, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed, which states that the thirteen American colonies were independent and was no longer controlled by the British. A quote that John Quincy Adams said was, “It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free”. In this quote Adams is talking about how America fought for their lives so that America could be free. One should be proud to be an American. To be considered an American one must still fight to be an American as well as fighting for one’s beliefs. then being diverse, along with being free.

She then earned her citizenship in American and is now considered an America. Just because a person is not born in a certain place doesn’t mean they are not considered that. As you look at everyone in America, everyone was not born in America, but still considered an American. But might just need to put a little bit more effort into it, but in the end still considered as an American.
