If it were not for all the sources of media, terrorism would not exist. Terrorists cannot cause terror without the help the media. “Populations cannot be intimidated if the news of the event meant to intimidate them does not reach them” (Taylor & Swanson, 2016 P.371). ISIS uses social media as a way to recruit people online, for examples they are known to use face book and twitter as a way to contact individuals. So, this group is partially right to want to create an Islamic State, however it is not the right thing to do with violence. As it is, ‘’violence is never the answer!’’.…

It seems that Isis wants to expand their group around the world. It seems like we're having the same situation that we had almost hundred years ago with nazi’s how they got expand in Germany and eventually we had a war going. The problem with this argument is that each time a new account is created, new followers must be obtained as the count will be reset. Taking down the major accounts limits the ability for the word to get out on these accounts as well. As long as accounts with high amounts of followers and fans are repeatedly taken out, the spread through social media will decline. ISIS can circumvent this by creating hashtags, but even then, the hashtags can be “hijacked” by good Samaritans, and content can be placed which is not related to ISIS at…

I read about the advantages and disadvantages of the Americans fighting ISIS on their soil. A advantage the Americans have is they are the most powerful country in the world. The Americans have multiple nuclear bombs that could annihilate the entire middle east. A disadvantage is the Americans have no clue what ISIS has, they have idea of what weapons they have or what tricks they have up their sleeve. Another disadvantage is the Americans would be fighting on ISIS territory which is very unfamiliar to the Americans. Also the Americans are at a disadvantage because if they were to send an attack on ISIS it would put innocent lives at risk which would hurt the Americans reputation.…

The terrorist’s activity in this world has grown over the past few years becoming more violent and gruesome. The terrorist group known as ISIS, or the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria, has become the new face of evil in this war. They are on a mission to exterminate anyone from any other religion or anyone who has different beliefs and to uphold the Sharia law, know as the Islamic law. The birth of ISIS came from the chaos of the civil war in Syria, which began in 2011 when an uprising began against the Syrian President Assad (CNN). ISIS was sent to Syria for recruiting purposes to network and expand. Since ISIS was backed by Al-Qaeda they grew quickly into a large force capable of destruction. A growing concern of the violence outbreak in social media has been increasing over the years. Social media is one of the causes of physical abuse, sexual violence, recorded torture, and even shootings. Even though technology has increased the epidemic of violence, it is beneficial for law enforcement to develop facial recognition of gang members. Furthermore, because of the advancement of technology, we are able to use Facebook live and other recording devices. With this in mind, individuals may post an inappropriate picture--which could go viral-- or expose a recorded violent video. While social media contributes to one of the problems of physical violence--recorded torture, shootings, and cyber dating abuse-- it however has a positive effect,…
