Large animals in captivity is wrong because they are not being treated and cared for properly. It doesn’t really matter how good the facilities of the zoo are, or how much space the animal has for itself, it will still not be comparable in any way to the freedom they would have in the wild.” Animals have natural instincts just like humans do, and being in captivity stops them from behaving as a wild animal naturally would. Unfortunately, after all the years of experience that I had, I saw the psychological and physical trauma that results from captivity.” The people who work with these animals daily, who supposedly know these animals better than anyone, can even attest to the trauma that these animals have going through while in captivity. Furthermore, even in some of the best zoos in the country, the conditions are not good enough for the animals to live in. When large animals are being held in captivity for long periods of time, being told when they can eat, where they can go, and being demanded to do tricks, their mental state can be compromised.
