MMR, Hepatitis B and over twenty more vaccinations are given during these years. Children are vaccinated to be “safe” from those diseases. Are those vaccinations safe for the children, or do they cause children to develop side effects, short or long lasting, or even to die? This has been an ongoing controversy throughout the years. This is a fact that no one, even the people against vaccinations can ignore. Many of the pros of vaccinations are witnessed every day. Low cost of the immunization along with ease of availability to all income levels is a positive. By vaccinating children with no life threatening ailments, it continues to benefit those in the surrounding community that may not be able to receive the vaccine due to illness, such as cancer or any other immunosuppressed disease, and/or age. Very young patients who have not been able to receive all their vaccines, may be more susceptible to a particular illness. The elderly are also more prone to become ill, so if they should come in contact with a child with a contagious disease, it could mean their untimely demise. The Federal Drug Administration also monitors the amount of chemicals and other ingredients that are placed in todays vaccinations. Although, some may be toxic in large amounts, the limited amount used is considered to be safe. The adverse effects of some of
