As we see it, we can imagine the congregation with the soloist front and center in the Temple singing songs of hymnals in our imaginations. As the soloists sings tunes from the heart he turns and addresses King Messiah and speaks “If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you.”(Psalm 9-10) The soloist then turns from the audience and addresses God who he sees through his visions. His first statements he expresses his refuge in God. The psalmist is a Trinitarian and is taking refuge in both God the father, and God the Son. If a person does not understand the doctrine of trinity, they may not understand certain vital passages found in some scriptures. Having addressed King Messiah, the psalmist stated God would take care of him through his pilgrimage. When God is here on earth, he is God the son, he was conceived through a virgin birth.
