The biopsychosocial perspective on disordered behavior recognizes that both biological and environmental factors. They believe mind and body are inseparable. They believe that if someone is mentally ill that the person must have a sickness physically as well that must be cured.
Discuss criticisms of the DSM and the potential dangers of using diagnostic labels.
The DSM has some criticisms such as that some believe that the manual has too wide of a range that brings in behaviors that may not necessarily point to an actual disorder. Everyday behaviors may be diagnosed.
Potential dangers of using diagnostic labels include creating a stigma that can lead to overdiagnosis or judging of the person. Also, others may view someone as diagnosed as different or dangerous because of stigmas in movies and won't want to associate with the person. They can bias perception and change past memories into different memories.

Describe the symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Generalized anxiety disorder- Symptoms include persistent dizziness, sweating palms, heart palpitations, ringing in the ears, edginess, and shaking.
Panic disorder- Anxiety that escalates into a panic attack: heart palpitations, shortness of breath, choking, trembling, and dizziness often misinterpreted as a heart attack.
Phobias- are anxiety disorders where an irrational fear that causes the person to fear and object, situation, or activity. It disrupts the lives of the people affected.
