Psychological Disorders: Depression
The purpose of this research paper is to identify and dissect a subtype of psychological disorders called depression and to validate the theory that depression is caused by changes in brain chemistry. Depression is recognized as a brain disorder known for causing an individual to persistently be in a miserable mood and/or lose interest in activities they used to partake in, causing significant impairment in their everyday life. The first part of the research paper involves describing what is depression and how is depression caused. The second part of the research paper will go into detail on the psychological changes inside the brain when dealing with depression. Furthermore, discussing the reduction
in the number of certain neurotransmitters found in individuals who suffer with depression.
