A person can view psychology as being “unsafe” due to past negative experiences. Often, when a person is need of help, the person who offers to assist may not be the most qualified person. I would compare this to a couple in raising a child for the first time. If the parents (couple) did not have a positive, loving and nurturing upbringing, there may be a tendency to act out the modeled example of his or her parents. This could lead to repeating the actions due to that being the only or familiar way of raising a child. Unfortunately, if the parents are not able to identify alternatives ways in responding to negative and positive behavior, the initial style of parenting can continue.

By understanding body language, tone, and choice of words, and behavior, a greater understanding of what motivates that person is ascertained.
