X will equal to the total hours that it takes to fill the pool and that means that x/8+x/12=24. 24 is the denominator so then our equation will be (3x+2x)/24 which that will equal to 1 and then we have to add 3x to 2x and we will get 5x so then 5x/24 since we need to get x we remove 5 from x so to do we have to divide by 24 and we will get 5x/5 and equals to 24/5 so x will equal
