There are different types of key aspects to public health strategies; monitoring health status, indentifying health needs, developing programs, controlling communicable disease and promoting health of the population.
Monitoring health status involves monitoring any health changes in the population and letting people know of any problems that can arise. There are a lot of different people involved in health work, these people help with monitoring health status; local health services such as Trafford general hospital, they work with other agencies so they can monitor the community’s health. Other people involved are the directors of public health, there are different directors for each region, and they have responsibilities involved in monitoring health status such as health improvement, protection, emergency planning, clinical quality, patient safety and they also have to produce an annual profile of the area they are in.
Identifying health needs, this is the second aspect to public health strategies, this involves finding out people’s health needs in the community; the health needs of people when the community status has been assessed, identifying health needs will help the community out more because once health professionals have found their needs they can figure out ways to come up with treatments for illnesses or conditions; the health are split into two categories, comparative and normative; comparative needs are when in an area in the community there is a lack of services that are worse than another area in the community and normative is where there are external requirements or standards that are needed. Developing programs, in the community people have illnesses that are not very good to notice such as STD’S or cancer; health professionals have over the years come up with ways to find out quicker if someone has a illness, there are screenings which help detect early signs of a disease, this
