The traits I chose to do my Punnett squares on are my blue eyes and my freckles. I got my blue eyes from my dad, and my many freckles from my mom. Both my parents have homozygous alleles for blue eyes. My dad has AA and my mom has aa. While my dad has homozygous for freckles and my mom had heterozygous. My dad has no freckles so he has aa, while my mom has tons of freckles so she has Aa. The capitol A’s represent the dominant traits and the lower case a’s represent the recessive traits. Since my dad has homozygous dominant, he passed on his dominant allele to me and my brother. While my mom can either pass on a dominant or recessive allele to me and my brother. Since each combination had a dominant allele, it gives a 100% guarantee that the children will have blue eyes, which explains why I and my brother both have bright blue eyes. As for freckles with my dad having homozygous recessive he can only pass on a recessive allele. While my mom can either pass on a dominant or recessive allele. Which gives a 50% probability that the children can have either a lot of freckles or no freckles at all. Which is why I have tons of freckles, while my brother has none at all. When I was born my chromosomes inherited the blue eyes from my dad, and the freckles from my mom. While when my brother was born, his chromosomes inherited the blue eyes and no freckles both from my dad. Since mine and my brothers genotypes code for different phenotypes, he looks exactly like my dad, while I look like my mom and dad. I got more phenotypes from both of my parents, while my brother got the majority of his phenotypes from my dad. My brother always get told he look exactly like my dad, and now I know why. He look more like my dad to other people because he inherited more phenotypes from my dad, then my mom. I get told I look my mom more, because I inherited more phenotypes from her than my dad. The only phenotype I have from my dad is the bright blue eyes. Which I love and would never
