Purpose Behind Pursuing Graduate Studies
My purpose behind pursuing graduate studies is fourfold:

I believe, though mature professional education can be obtained at undergraduate level, it can find its fullest expression only in the graduate years. I do not regard graduate study as a mere extension of undergraduate education or as an end in itself. I shall treat it as a stage to develop acumen under the careful guidance of an expert. By accoutering myself with knowledge of enduring value and by developing the ability to learn anew, I hope to carry out creative endeavor in future.

I wish to become an academician and researcher of repute in my field. To develop this expertise, I must undergo graduate study.

Though I have the background of one of the finest engineering programmes,

This urge to learn and discover has not been satisfied by four years of undergraduate study, and is now a source of motivation. I am sure graduate studies will offer me an opportunity to learn more about the exciting and challenging fields in Computer Science. Thus, I intend to pursue \textbf{Master of Science in Engineering in Computer and Information Science} at \textbf{University of Pennsylvania}.

It was in my eighth year that a new instrument in my household generated a high level of curiosity in me. The COMPUTER enthralled me. I could send a mail to my uncle in the United States, which was on the other part of the world. How was it possible? Curiosity motivated me into learning more about how this instrument worked. I was looking for answers and one vague answer; “IT'S ALL TECHNOLOGY” sealed my choice. I decided to pursue my further education in the field of Computer Science and Technology. My doting towards problem solving made me participate in many State and National level Olympiads and bag many accolades. This interest in logical and computational thinking led me to take up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my major subjects in my Pre-University course after

Throughout my undergraduate coursework, I undertook various term projects to understand the concepts of computer science to their depth. I worked on an \textbf{Operating System Term Project} in which I modified \textbf{PintOS}, a bare bones OS Kernel developed at Stanford University, by implementing various advanced OS Constructs like Process Synchronization Primitives, File System Management and Design of Virtual Memory by Demand Paging on top of the basic PintOS framework. I have also completed \textbf{Socket Programming Term Project}, \textbf{HTTP Proxy}. In HTTP Proxy, I implemented a basic non-caching HTTP Proxy Sever capable of parsing and checking the HTTP request header according to w3 specifications and then forwarding it to Web-Server. I worked on \textbf{SAC(Student Activity Centre) Management} software. Created a portal for the institute's Student Activity Centre. The software maintains the student organization that acts as the link between the students and the administration.
The objective was to maintain a database using the Relational Database Management
System and write various queries to access the

I had a great freshman year at IU where I could take almost any class and enjoy it, unlike high school where you had to take the exact same curriculum as your peers. After wrapping up my first year of college, one class especially stood out from many good courses that not only grabbed my attention but let my personality flourish, I101. I enrolled in this class because I’ve been interested in computers and technology from a young age. Little did I know, the course not only encompassed my fascination of computers, but dove into ethics and implications, subjects that I read about regularly and let me solve problems scientifically in a way that uniquely suited me. I enjoyed my time in the class learning topics such as python and databases. There…

Professionally, a graduate degree shows that the person has the motivation, ambition, and dedication to improve and thus strive to obtain a position in which he/she can apply and expand his knowledge base. Many perceive a graduate degree as a status symbol, an opportunity for advancement, or even a cause for more money. The choice to seek additional education after investing four years in an undergraduate degree shows commitment to learning and recognition of self-worth. I chose to pursue a Master’s degree for two reasons; to obtain a higher learning level of education and to eventually increase my annual salary. The first, and most important, reason for my wanting to pursue a Master’s degree is to obtain a higher education level. I believe that obtaining a graduate degree will definitely make me more marketable in the corporate world. My goal is to broaden my horizon beyond the technical world, unlock career aspirations otherwise blocked, and enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. I am hoping that by pursuing a degree of higher learning, I will pick up enhanced skills that will enable me to be more of an asset to a team once I enter the workforce. During my years of secondary education I have developed a great interest in computers, not only how they are made but what really goes on behind the screen, many other courses usually need some sort of equipment to create something new, but the mesmerizing thing about computer science is that you can create something Implausible from nothing, Studying AS computing has enhanced both my knowledge and experience in the applications of computer systems, basic computer architecture and the language a computer understands which is binary a set of numerical figures (1’s and 0’s) that when put in a specific sequence become instructions which are executed by the computer. Algorithms and logical problem solving is something I enjoy a lot which can explain my interest within programming and computers themselves. I have had the opportunity to learn programming in visual basic and by using HTML which can be very confusing and challenging but this is what keeps me motivated to try harder and complete what I have started, my curiosity has also led me to choose AS Maths, this has given me a quick grasp of concepts within computing allowing me to think out of the box and find a solution for a problem in way I understand. I enjoy these subjects the most and I hope what I continue to learn will help me in university.…
