II. Biographical Sketch of Author Brian J. Walsh, of Canada, is a Christian Reformed Campus minister at the University of Toronto, as well as pastor of the Wine Before Breakfast community. His work is centered around the collision of theology and culture, with interests in agrarianism, biblical theology, the theology of the city, and postmodernity (amazon.com). The novel establishes the idea that worldview, in this case a Christian worldview, and scholarship, must be intertwined. The authors discuss the belief that faith should not be separate from academic disciplines such as science and philosophy, but should instead be integrated to create a greater understanding of both. In this section the author begins to make a case for Christian education and the integration of faith and learning in institutes of higher education. Though the authors do make a case for the integration of faith and learning, this part of the novel is somewhat underdeveloped. Faith and scholarship are not really addressed until the final two chapters of the novel, and are addressed almost as a form of conclusion. The hope of this examination is that it will yield a more pure and all encompassing Christian worldview for the reader to live by. Though the book seems to be written for Christian students at Christian learning institutions, it can potentially reach a much broader audience. The Transforming Vision: Shaping a Christian Worldview, is a relevant read for any Christian in any stage of life, regardless of educational background. The message of the book and the teaching on worldview is important for all Christians, not just students. The book would even be a beneficial read for those who are not believers but are curious about Christianity and how Christian faith changes an individual’s life. The examination of a Christian worldview in The Transforming Vision is beneficial to all Christians, as well as those seeking a greater understanding of
