The article Typical Dreams:Stabillity and gender differences by schrell,micheal; ciric,petra,gotz simon;wittman lutz in the journal of psychology, published in November 2004, by the Proquest social science journals is about gender dream variations and dream themes. Whats already known from this study was that there are 55 common typical dream themes that have been identified and recorded already and that before testing the personal background of the dreamer has to be put into consideration before looking at the results.Typical dreams are described with similar contents by a high percentage of the people who have them.
But whats really desired by the researchers is that do all these dream themes occur in both men and women? Or some in men and others in women?Another question for the authors was are there more dream themes out there? How many are there?
The authors want to learn the differences of dreams between men and women and identify more dream themes that could occur. That way researchers can understand more about the dreaming system in humans and experiment further on other theories that have to do with gender dreaming differiation.
During this study the processes used to develop and recieve more information was through surveys and group comparison. The participants used were randomly selected people, depending on which test some got paid. But all studies had an even amount of men verses women used
