The Burmese python, the third largest snake in the world at an average of 16 feet long, is native to Southeast Asia. They are found primarily in southern China, Burma, Indochina, Thailand, and the Malay Archipelago. Burmese pythons are dependent on water to survive, so they live mostly in rainforests near streams. However, populations have been found in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, swamps, marshes, and rocky foothills. This explains why the Burmese python has thrived in the damp swampy environment of the Florida…
The reason that these snakes are here is them being brought over as pets. When they grow much bigger than their owners had expected they do the worst thing possible and release them into the wild, where they make their way to the everglades. Another reason they are in the everglades is hurricane Andrew. This storm destroyed many warehouses which contained over 900 pythons. Nearly all of them escaped into the everglades. They are very hard to catch and will multiply very fast, posing a huge problem for scientists and people trying to stop…
The GPS system is used to track down a certain location or to reach a destination. The GPS system is very common in law enforcement agencies. For example, if a car is stolen or a criminal is on the run and it has a GPS system in it, the officers can use this device to track the car down. The GPS will give the current location of the car which would help officers to find the victim and follow them. Officers also use the GPS system to locate another patrol car. Cellphones is another popular device law enforcement uses. Cellphones can be used in numerous ways during any situation. For example, if a teenage girl is kidnapped but is able to still use her cellphone to call nine one one, officers can try to trace her call. By tracing the call, it will be able to give off a location or give a close range of the location to help find the girl. Another popular technical device law enforcement agencies use is surveillance equipment. Surveillance equipment is used to watch and keep track of a individual or a place and their activities. For example, if a drug dealer is going out everyday to sell drugs and officers need proof of that to convict him or her, they…
Some of the animals in the Temperate Deciduous Forest are the American Bald Eagle, American Black Bear, Coyote, Duckbill Platypus, Eastern Chipmunk, European Red Squirrel, Fat Dormouse, and White-tailed Deer. Animals in the Temperate Deciduous Forest either migrate or hibernate in the winter and return in the summer. The American Black Bear has a thick coat with many layers that help keep it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It’s also an omnivore meaning it eats plants and meat.…

To start off, the Burmese Python is an enormous snake that resides mainly in Southeast Asia. Source 1 states that they can grow to be 23 feet in length, and they can weigh up to 200 pounds. Although the pythons are native to Southeast Asia they have been purchased illegally and imported to the United States. After the individuals purchase the pythons from the pet dealers they will get larger. Once they get so large they owners cannot take care of them, so they release them into the wild. However the Everglades is the unfortunate place that most pythons reside. The Everglades is home to many species of animals, so the pythons have a lot of prey. They also do not have a natural predator which means that the wildlife is completely vulnerable to…
Some scientist believe that some snakes can communicate through hissing. But this snake has a sound of its own. Scientist have said, “It sound is between a low roar and a deep hiss.” The sound has been known to travel two miles. Some believe it to evolve this so that it can find a mate much faster than usual. Others believe that they evolved this trait to scare predators away. People in some countries which I’ve been sworn not to say have illegally. They say that the snakes meat taste like a mix between quail and…

A key element in the life of any individual is to be able to reproduce. Nonhuman primates number only 250 species but display great diversity in grouping patterns. We call some of these types of groupings a one male polygyny or monogamy. However, the main focus today is that these primates have evolved different strategies, behavioral and ecological, to cop with the need to balance limited food supplies while avoiding predators with intensions of mating and or harming their offspring. It has been assumed that in order for male primates to reach mating success, they must have to take on the task of always being present to the female and her offspring’s. I believe that I will argue that monogamy and one male polygyny are different yet both useful mating strategies. Then I will conclude that both mating systems have their own way of living, with special roles and circumstances despite the fact that they are both unique. The goal of my research begins by clarifying the different types of mating systems like monogamy and polygyny and then by looking into the intriguing issue of how primates choose their mates.…
