Q Art Code Case Study
Y&R Thailand has combined technology and art to produce an interesting campaign for the Bangkok Arts & Culture Centre (BACC). The main objective of the campaign was to reach out to the younger generation and raise awareness of BACC and its exhibitions. Thus, Y&R Thailand worked with several famous artists from Thailand to create “Q Art Code”.

Q Art Code are QR Code sculptures and installations that showed the joining of both technology and art, therefore making art look more approachable and contemporary to the younger population who are tech-savvy. These unique sculptures and installations are then placed in Bangkok’s popular public areas to attract more attention. When these QR Codes are scanned, it will direct users to the BACC official website which contains the calendar for the exhibition.

However, with the advancement of technology, most KFC restaurants in China now accepts AliPay mobile payments. We believe that this could also be one of the more prominent usage of QR Codes as KFC is the first fast food restaurant in China to start using QR Codes for mobile payments.

Customers can now use their AliPay QR Codes in their AliPay smartphone apps to pay for their orders. The payment through AliPay is extremely quick and easy to use, thus it will help to shorten queues at KFC restaurants. KFC China has set up its own service counter on AliPay Wallet. This means that customers are able to access more information, on the app, about KFC such as deals and promotions.

AliPay has over 400 million users and this number is steadily growing due to it being user-friendly and convenient.
