Qing Dynasty
The Qing Dynasty was the most powerful dynasty to rule China. Qing means pure and clean. In 1625, Nurhaci conquered the Ming(former dynasty ruling china) city of shenyang and made it the capital. The Qing was established in 1636. The ones that had the idea to create a new dynasty were not Chinese but descendants of the Jurchen, a group from the far north-east of China who had abandoned the term Jurchen, associated with historical submission to Chinese rule, and instead called themselves Manchu. In order for them to be guaranteed control over the administration, half of the high level officials were the Manchu people and the other half were Chinese. The dynasty not only grew in land size but also in religious branches as well. Roman Catholic missionaries were tolerated and employed as astronomers and artist. Qing porcelain displays high technical master to even the almost total obliteration of any mark of the potters hand.

The first Opium war (1839-42), the anglo- french war (1856-58), the Sino-Japanese war( 1894-95), and the Boxer Rebellion (1900) all resulted in defeat for china and the granting of major concessions of foreign powers. The century worth of defeat cause humlitation and harassment from the west. The changes that were being made in the inside of the government also caused a downfall. Things like coroption, peasant unrest, ruler incompetence, and population growth which led to food storage and regular famine.

The Qing Dynasty was the most powerful dynasty that ever existed in China. It was the fifth largest dynasty ever and it had a lasting impact on the way that the economy is run all around the world, even today.
