(1)General: How friendships formed and/or maintained at university?
What is/are your research question(s) ?
How friendships are formed and maintained within students before and during university.

Why have you decided to focus on this aspect?
Instead of using the general question on friendships with regards to just university, we decided to broaden the question to accommodate the period of time pre-university therefore giving us a broader spectrum of question which can be asked.

(2) Methodology: List all your questions here, and consider the purpose of the question, as well as what possible questions could merge from your initial question.

Question
Consider: What is the purpose of this question; how will it help you to answer your research question? What possible questions may come from this question?
How does university life affect friendships you already have established prior to university?

(Are friendships prior to university now strained?) (Do you feel you interact with them as much?)

The purpose of this question is to get the person being interviewed settled.
Do you feel the significance of the friendships formed in the first term in university are as important now?

(Are you still close to people met in first term?) (Can you describe to me your friendships you made before university?)

This question is to help people think about firstly coming to university in year one and any attachments formed and the importance of them now.
Do you think that new friendships at university have changed who you are?
(Effected your person in anyway?) (Have these friendships had a positive or negative effect?)(Is there anything else what has

It is important that the university has social support networks in place as they can play a vital role in the success or failure of the student. Students have to put their academic life first in university. (Rienties, Beausaert, Grohert , Niemantsverdriet & Kommers, 2012, p.687)states that Students as much as they have to put their studies first, need to be socially active as well. Levy and Earl (2012) also argued that the lack of social support results in loneliness, isolation and feelings of insecurity in relation to work load and the potential to lose motivation. One student in Urquhart and Pooley (2007, p.84) explains that walking into a lecture or tutorial and knowing familiar faces is reassuring thus making the experience more enjoyable. A student from Levy and Earl (2012, p.73) states that “In every environment where someone is new, they need people to help them adjust to the…

While living in Arizona for six years, I built some really strong friendships, so leaving those friends was extremely difficult for me-especially since I had already started high school with them and was so excited to graduate with them as well. Once I moved to Marcus, that meant I had to find new friends. This task was not so easy at first; the school was so big that it was hard to really connect with people. However, I did figure it out within the first year and started to meet some wonderful students in my classes and in my extracurricular sports and activities in which I participated.…

Some sociologists believe that as individuals get older, it becomes tougher to meet the 3 conditions that are crucial in making friends: Proximity, repeated and unplanned interactions. These three elements provide a setting that encourages people to let their guards off and trust each other, which is why the best of friends are made in college. As you hit 30’s you enter the professional world, where maintaining “proximity” becomes difficult and the only time you can interact with your friends is either through…

The title of this research study is: The internet and student research: teaching critical evaluation skills. I believe that this title is suitable for the research study because it is an overview of the information that relates the point of the study itself which indicates a connection between students and their use of the internet when it comes to utilizing the internet as a research tool. The study reflects the central phenomenon by exploring the issues throughout the study by conducting action research using methods of a table, collaboration aspects, and pre-unit data collection. This research does affect the people (students) and the site which is being studied due to the answers the researcher received in her survey (Heil, Delilah, 2005).…
