It has been claimed that ‘thankfulness is the best expression of gratitude’ and I am indeed thankful to a group of people who have helped me complete this assignment on time and in what I hope is a proper approach worthy of distinction. Recognizing firstly, my Measurement of Works teacher, Miss. Pabasara , I am absolutely thankful for her wonderful teaching in the measurement subject and her unfailing attempts in showing us the art of true, skilled work in that field. Introduction Quantity surveyors are employed in private practices, public offices and by contractors, and they undertake a great diversity of work. In more recent times, quantity surveyors are engaged increasingly in the financial management of contracts and ensuring that clients secure value for money and that the completed projects provide substantial added value to the client’s property asset. Furthermore, they are sometimes engaged as lead consultants for large projects, where they are responsible for the delivery of all professional services from inception to completion.
