Analyzing Progress to Better Understand Ourselves as Readers

Is this more than usual? If so, why? This is a lot more than I usually read during the school year. Throughout my High School career i lost touch with the enjoyment of reading and tended to focus on sports, extracurricular activities and school work. With the lack of practice it soon became very difficult for me to even read a book that was assigned due to the fact that i thought reading was “boring” This quarter of my senior year is indeed very different for me. (Please include both home and school reading) I read every night before I go to sleep. I read social media and many new articles that i think are interesting. I take books with me to work a lot lately, in case I have a few moments to read a chapter.
Are you growing as a reader? Explain. Absolutely. But not only am i growing as reader i feel as if i am also growing as a writer. I am getting faster in both reading and writing and my vocabulary has excelled.
Estimate your growth in stamina. How long can you read at once? Has this changed this quarter? I can't read for hours without getting distracted or checking my phone. Although I am definitely getting faster and am building a higher tolerance to distractions because of all the reading I’m doing.
How do you plan to challenge yourself a s a reader during quarter 2? I plan to attack my Reading Next List. I hope to finish at least 3-4 books next quarter. I also hope to increase my stamina.
What is your goal for the total number of books you can read this semester? This school year? I don't have a goal. Setting a goal for myself would take the enjoyment out of reading due to the pressure i would put on myself. I would love to read as many books as i possibly can but i really want to be 100% absorbed by the book and read every detail rather than getting through as many as i possibly
