1. What would be the role and responsibility of a sustainability director (environmental manager) in a progressive city and/or a visionary university?
-To account for their emissions. To reduce environmental impacts as well as their own operating costs. ~ Minimize the impact that could potentially be brought upon the environment / society stemming from this development. -Plan and manage the use of natural resources

From your text, why is an understanding of how resources were used (and misused) in the past important to the current and future management of resources? - damage we create now threatens our future and the future of our children and the millions of species that share the planet with us. -Learning from our mistakes can cause people t better manage resources in the future. Knowing what went wrong and acting upon it. If people know how to use resources properly they will know how to take better care of the environment. 3. What are the differences and similarities in use of the terms Environmental Management and Resource Management and the terms Environmental Policy and Environmental Management?
Environmental Management:
Definition: The management of the interaction and impact of human activities on the natural environment.
Resource Management:
Definition: The efficient and effective deployment of an organization's resources when they are needed. Such resources may include financial resources, inventory, human skills, production resources, or information technology (IT).
Environmental Policy:
Definition: The commitment of an organization to the laws, regulations, and other policy mechanisms concerning environmental issues and sustainability.
