.Although it might not seem like it we have a great effect on people around us.We have a choice in what role we want to play.We can choose to impact people in a positive or the opposite. In Each text we read this collection we see the importance of unity and equality with in us. Each text elaborates in a way about unity and people working together .
In “quilt of a country’’,the author Anna quindlen elaborates on what should be a nation in unity but isn't after all. She states “America is an improbable idea. “discordant ’’ to describe what this nation was built on stating “That’s because it was built of bits and pieces that seem discordant , like the crazy quilts’’. in “the gettysburg” address, we get to see the great effects of society. President lincoln does a great job explaining the importance of us sticking together and working together as a union . He states “we cannot hallow this ground the brave men living and dead who struggled here have consecrated it” . As you can see president Lincoln uses the word we speaking of all as a union.
He also stated “ if is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here has thus so nobly advanced.” President is reminding people to work together in unity to finish this task which has already been started. In order for us to do that we should work together and all individuals should put our pluralistic differences aside and work on finishing this task.
In the Vietnam war the photo essay and the poem , you see the impact of individuals till this day.
