Quotes From Grandpa Portman

Since I’m an organized person I’m going to start with the first quotation that I liked and stood out. “Grandpa had told him some of the same stories when he was a kid, and they weren’t lies, exactly, but exaggerated versions of the truth --- because the story of Grandpa Portman’s children wasn’t a fairy tale at all. It was a horror story.” I was fond of this quote since I feel many people do this when an unpleasant event occurred to them and in some occasions they change the event into something more cheerful. I know that his Grandpa Portman’s stories were real, but this quote actually made me think about how people actually do this when something bad happens to them.

things began to happen.” Many people always want something magnificent to happen to them, an adventure to happen when they have dull lives. Everybody has wanted to have something extraordinary. It’s a quote I can even relate to since I sometimes want to go out and explore a foreign land. It might as well be something human thing to do.

“I’d been born in the wrong century, and I felt cheated.” Jacob grew up with stories of adventure and exploration, which he grew fond of and in a way became his ideal job, however been born in a year where almost about everything was already discovered he felt disappointed, mad even that he wasn’t able to discover something new that nobody else has. It’s really not surprising since over thousands of years, humans would start getting curious and explore their own world.

It’s sweet that he likes Emma so much that he thinks of her often. That this girl won’t leave his mind at all. However thinking about a girl that much is creepy that in a way it’s funny and most likely impossible. Thinking about someone since getting in the shower to when you’re going to sleep and nothing coming across your mind is impossible or in a way obsessive.
