When watching you this film you are exposed to Noyce's brient work in creating a narrtive stucter. There are 3 young indigenous girls are ripped from their mothers bare hands and are taken from Jigalong to Moore River Native Settlement during the 1930's to be assimilated into the white socielty. This movement was reinforced by A.O Neville that all half-caste children are to be removed from their families and taken to a reeducating camp. Noyce picked all 3 girl even though they had no acting experience, but because he belivied they could conect with the characters and would make it more beliviable. The 3 girls show lots of determination and indigenous pride, but Molly shows leadership quiltys and Gracie shows false interpendience at stages.
