In Stephen Spencer's Race and Ethnicity, a global perspective is adopted to explore the historical, political and social processes which produce ethnic relations and identities. Rhetoric images are used to expose our cultural bias through addressing racism.
Spencer's theory of our cultural bias' being exposed due to recognizing stereotypes is extremely useful because it sheds light on the difficult problem of racism. Within the text, Spencer analyzes the anti-racism poster which portrays a black face and the word "SCARED" in blood red.
