This happens all the time and no one does anything about it because it's something that's out of our control. I wouldn't say it's as bad as it used to be but it definitely still exist. Many people that have grown up in these rough neighborhoods have evolved and become something that they didn't expect they would become. I feel that when people go through a lot and become successful in the end they appreciate it more than somebody that had it. No one really knows the struggle until they have been through it themselves. Many of these kids want to grow up and be somebody and help their families get out of these rough neighborhoods. Just because they grew up in these areas doesn't mean that they're automatically going to be criminals. Many police officers criminally profile people that grew up in these areas and that's not right nor is it professional. How can we as a community going to feel safe when we feel that the police officers already see us as criminals. That's where the trust between the police officers and people that are in rough neighborhood has this affects. No one's going to want to inform the officers when something goes down in their neighborhood because when they get called to the scene their demeanor and attitude has a reflection of them not wanting to be there. That's where the disconnect between minorities and the police officers exist. Especially what's going on in the media makes people want to distance themselves even more from the law because we feel like it's unjust.
