The reason behind this is the injustices committed by some officers who take advantage of the badge they wear. Police officers are said to have a rough life as they go out everyday to fight crime sometimes leading to shots being fired, and who knows if they’ll ever see their families again. But it does not give them to terrorized the average American citizen just for its own fun or peacefulness.Reports of police brutality has grown in the past year by 25% according to the police department statistics. Most of them have been towards the African American and Latino communities. These brutalities are so bad they often lead to death or long-term lasting injuries. A chicago man was beaten by police so bad that the man suffered permanent brain damage that make him have seizures. Due to excessive force there have been many cases which police will shoot an innocent person and try to get away with it. Most of the targets that were innocently killed by police were black males and females. The death of those individuals were proof that racism is still alive in America as it is often a white police officer killing a minority that was doing nothing wrong to disturb the peace. The blacks lives matter movement is to show pride in African Americans culture and show that there is still racism in America and how they will keep fighting for equality. They will try to change your mind of how they aren't harmful people and the skin color doesn't matter. Proud to be black is there movement and just because they're different they shouldn't be mistreated. This has been on the news for months and brought a lot of media attention. Many people show their support even the black celebs show their pride and want to stand up against this racial tension. J.Cole made a whole album explaining police brutality and how there needs to be change in these corrupted officers and in the department. How this shouldn't be happening in 2016.
