Racism became a problem as early as the 1800’s. It originated in Europe by people being forced into labor without pay die to their skin color. This would be called slavery. Slavery then began to spread throughout the world and into the United States. United States was one the earliest countries to try to eliminate slavery. In a historical aspect, our country was literally split up into two different sections. One section was for the slavery movement and fought to keep it going. The south was the biggest problem for our country to move on and grow out of slavery. Although, many people felt as if slavery ended, that did not mean segregation would end as well.
