The nuclear accident that happened in Fukushima in 2011 is the worst miserable thing that happened in the past, and this disaster have leaked significant amounts of radiation that have affected ecosystems in the region. On March 21, 2011, TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) investigated the seawater near the southern discharge port of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS, revealed that radioactive substances significantly exceeding safety standard values were detected. According to National Geographic, Joseph Rachlin, director of Lehman College's Laboratory for Marine and Estuarine Research says “radiation can hurt ocean animals in several ways—by killing them outright, creating ‘bizarre mutations' in their offspring, or passing radioactive material
