Honestly speaking then while writing this article, nobody can be happier than me. The reason for this is because I am a hardcore Rafa fan and he is a role model to me. The way he used to play when he was in his prime was so fantastic to watch. He didn't do anything special in that one and it was mainly because of the unforced errors that Wawrinka committed, was he able to win the first set so comfortably. Forehands and backhands were exchanged in the second set and the Spaniard had to battle it out against the Swiss. In the end, it was a satisfying victory for Rafa. The most pleasing aspect of his game being the way he moved around the court.
Next up was the epic clash against the World no.2 Andy Murray. Rafa holds a staggering win record of 7-1 against Andy on clay. This is enough to prove his supremacy against the Scot on this surface. The start was not as good as he would have like, losing 2-6 in the opening set. The Scot played some sparkling shots and didn't allow Nadal to play his 'A' game. The next set was much tighter and Rafa gave Murray a run for his own money. There were the long exhausting rallies, which are a trademark when Rafa's playing well. In the end, the Spaniard managed to hold on to his service and win the second set 6-4.
