She is a tough character, from trying to please everyone, to living in a small apartment. A single mother, so far it shows she is willing to do whatever for her family. When the check in the mail comes, all the characters have wishes on how to use it but Mama takes it and goes out and buys a house. That makes an impact because she didn’t tell her family, she knew it was in a white development and knew there could be some issues. Mama says”... She went out and she bought you a house! “Ruth says “... Mama, there aint no colored people living in Clybourne Park. “The character Ruth is upset because she feels it wasn’t a good or a smart idea. Ruth and Walter start to not get along. Mama goes out of her way to try and help them. By doing that, it makes an impact by showing she wants everyone to be happy and lets the characters know that Mama is strong and willing to do anything for her family. Walter says to Ruth “I don’t want you to come! “ He says this angrily, he does not want to be around Ruth. Mama says “…And as long as you are—you’ll talk to your wife civil. “ What she means is Walter still lives in the same house as Mama so he will listen to Mama, and she joins the conversation that she wasn’t in to try to help.
In conclusion, Mama and Walter have made the biggest impact. The two characters have influenced the play so far in many ways. The play takes place in a poor area but the family show love and strength. The author is Lorraine
