Unemployment. When it comes to unemployment, people say raising the minimum wage is the answer, but is it? To raise or not to raise; that is the question. By increasing the minimum wage individuals will have a reduced desire for career achievement, business could raise their prices, and jobs and benefits cut. Many people who live in poverty don't work, therefore won't be affected by the increase. The Congressional Budget Office has found that raising taxes is more efficient than increasing the minimum wage. There are better ways to help the poor.
A pay raise may boost workers' morale, but it could damage their motivation for self-betterment and socioeconomic outlook. Futhermore, low wage workers might be less inclined to go to college by the

Raising the minimum wage commonly may be seen as a way to give a low-income worker a raise, but it resulted in a surplus since the minimum wage is a price floor. Surplus happens when the quantity of supply is greater than the quantity of demand.
