Ransom Of Animals
When owners of seized or lost dogs can't afford to get their pets back, they relinquish their rights to the animal, which can result in a pet being euthanized. Meanwhile, a CNN Money analysis of active warrants from a sampling of 15 cities and counties across the country found thousands of outstanding warrants for small pet-related offenses.

Outraged pet owners and animal rights attorneys say these harsh tactics are all about generating money and unfairly impact low-income Americans.

This dog, named Chunk, was murdered by the government in 2013.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), the largest animal rights organization in the world, had a PETA investigator work for a puppy mill farm, Nielsen Farms, located in Kansas. While working there, the investigator noticed that the animals had little to no protection from harsh weather conditions, and major health problems like ear infections and abscessed feet from the wired cages were ignored or improperly treated.9 In the report, the investigator mentions that his coworker found a dead dog, and the dog was not removed from its cage for days. The investigator also mentions, “The trough that collects the waste from the cages gives off an incredibly rotten smell, since it is merely rinsed with cold water and there is a large buildup of encrusted hair and feces.” 9As these conditions were unsanitary and by no doubt required USDA intervention, the investigator notes that the USDA’s “visits [were] infrequent and usually announced ahead of time.”9 When the USDA investigator arrived on the scene, “the investigator glanced at the cages but did not examine the dogs” and the case was not reported.9 Devastated, the PETA investigator took matters into his own hands and had arranged for PETA officials to further investigate. As a result, after the inspection and seeing the filth, the puppy mill was closed down.9 Overall, this investigation conveys that the…

Not too far from a house, a barn sits off in the distance. Inside the barn, it is crowded with cages. Row after row, stacked on top of each other, are cages with dogs inside of them. Dogs crying for attention or crying out in pain. Inside that barn, there are tens of hundreds of dogs being bred and born consecutively. This is what a puppy mill looks like. Puppy mills are large-scale commercial dog breeding operations where profit is placed above the well-being of animals. To help put this cruel treatment of animals to an end, we need to look at the causes and effects of puppy mills, and what you can do as an individual.…

A police dog, often referred to as a K-9 dog in some areas is a dog that is trained specifically to assist police aand other law-enforcement personnel in their work. In many jurisdictions the intentional injuring or killing of a police dog is a felony subjecting the perpetrator to harsher penalties than those in the statutes embodied in local animal cruelty laws, just as an assault on a human police officer is often a more serious offense than the same assault on a non-officer. A growing number of law-enforcement organizations outfit dogs with ballistic vests and some make the dog’s sworn officers, with their own police badges and IDs. Furthermore, a police dog killed in the line of duty is often given a full police funeral.…

My personal argument is this, my wife and I adoption a dog from our local shelter and after that they keep sending us emails of hurt animals that need good homes. I understand they need good homes but we can’t take any more animals in. The media is helping theses shelters pull on the heart strings of animal lovers by sending emails that show images of hurt animals and stated that if we don’t adopt any more than they would be youthonized. This was not our first dog from a shelter but my conclusion is after the countless emails that are about 6 a day I have decided not to adopt any more from this place. It…

    Banning Puppy Mills

Although puppy mills are widely known for their poor treatment of animals, they are still legal in the United States. We live in a capitalist society where every business has the right to prosper, so it’s easy to see why some people would be against the illegalization of puppy mills, as that would infringe upon business owners’ rights. However, just as there are laws in place to prevent the cruel treatment of people and animals, there should be laws in place to prevent the wrongful breeding of dogs in dangerous conditions. All 50 states have anti-cruelty laws to prevent neglect and mistreatment of animals, but these laws exclude rural areas, where most puppy mills are found – and they’re found mostly here at home, in the Midwest.…
