Secondly, there is a lot of slang in the song for better recognition to certain people. This leads to nondiction and drake stated “You got a reputation for yourself now” you got is slang. A lot of rap artist use slang just the comprehend with other people so it will sounds good. He also said “Girl you got me down, you got me stressed out” nondiction is part of slang that people use in every sentence or phrase they say.
Last, there is a lot of rhyme in every verse of the song. Drake stated “I know when that hotline bling, that can only be one thing” and he repeats it twice. He includes the popular song 99 problems. “If you're having girl problems I feel bad for you son / I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one” is the line and Jay Z explains it as “In this verse, the bitch is a female dog, the K-9 cop coming to sniff the ride.
